CLIENT:            City of Phoenix

DURATION:      September 2011 - May 2012

SIZE:                 7,200 SF

COST:                1.2 M

SCOPE:              A major renovation of one of the city's older libraries into the city's first hybrid library and workforce center.  Although on very restrictive budget, the facility emphasizes many features of its existing structure, originally designed by renown architect Benny Gonzales. With only the addition of 400 square feet, the renovation was reinvented through the relocation of the entry and the removal of portions of the exterior walls to better engage its surroundings. Through a series of subtle transformations the library has now become an integral part of the community it serves.
